Looking much whiter with the flash!

The whole lot!

Bit more terrain

Missed off the last post - some Warbases' garden stuff, a couple of Warlord gates and Ainsty water troughs.

More terrain!

Not had much hobby time over the summer, but did get some terrain done.

A field using Warlord's stone walls kit on an MDF base.

Some roads made from cork tiles. I originally bought the tiles to make some buildings before going the way of 'tarted up' MDF kits.
I got the idea of using the tiles from The Wargames Table blog.

Warlord British Engineers and Panzer IV

Finally finished off the pack of Warlord British Engineers that have been sat on the paint tray for an awfully long time.  Engineer support sorted for Chain of Command!
Next is a Tamiya 1/48 Panzer IV H -  a long time since I have constructed a 'proper' plastic kit like this.  Fitting the multipart tracks and the turret schurzen were a little awkward (I think it was designed by people with very small digits), but it came together OK.  The side schurzen will be added after painting.

High Walls

After walking round Norman villages last year realised I needed lots of high walls!

Tanks finally finished

Finally finished off all the vehicles in the Tank Park!
Allied armour - Corgi Shermans, Blitzkrieg Miniatures Firefly, Warlord Cromwell and Carrier.
Corgi Panthers, Blitzkrieg Miniatures' Stugs and 250, Tamiya Citroen Staff Car

May add some foliage to the Stugs.

Then can't put off finishing the houses and church any longer!

LotR Army of the Dead

Finally got round to finishing these, after them sitting on the side for ages.
Easy to paint - just wash and drybrush!

The way is now clear to finish off my Chain of Command armour.

Germans in greatcoats and WIP

Finished off the German infantry bought at Hammerhead - including MG42 gunner for SdKfz250.
Present work in progress - Tank park, British engineers and Army of the Dead!  Hopefully clear this lot in the next month and then on to finishing the Normandy village!

Loot from Hammerhead and ongoing WIP

Went to Hammerhead in Newark - loot mostly stuff for Chain of Command, but did get some Perry Napoleonic Landing Party.  These are being put aside for summer painting!
Warbases - chicken coop, cold frame, compost bin, church pews and some wall columns.
Ainsty - gravestones and slabs and a couple of water troughs.
Blitzkrieg Miniatures - SdKfz 250
Artizan  - some german infantry in greatcoats (easy to paint!)
The book was my only purchase from the Tabletop Sale.

WIP Pictures
Some barbed wire/minefield markers and a birthday pressie Sarissa farmhouse.

A few more germans - a sniper, LMG team and some 'crew' figures - mix of Artizan and Warlord.
Tank Park in the background - Shermans are next on the painting list.

Work in progress - St. Germain-du-Pert

Church and village buildings all tiled and some high walls made.

All set up for scenario three in the TFL pint-sized campaign '29 Let's Go!'
Unfortunately my German defenders suffered a crushing defeat - two sections caught under a mortar barrage did for my Force Morale!  Have rethought my defensive tactics for the next game in the mini-campaign.

The buildings are all Sarissa and the walls homemade with Warbases' pillars and gates.  Next job is adding some texture to the walls and houses.

The Games Bunker is too cold!

The Games Bunker (aka the garage) is too cold for gaming so have had to use the kitchen table for some 'block action'!  Command and Colours Ancients - The Battle of Zama set up for a game against gaming buddy Pete.  After initial success with the elephants, my gallant Carthaginians were defeated 8:7.

Have braved the Bunker for some shorter sessions working on the Sarissa Church and some of their houses - photos of WIP to follow.
